Success

Yesterday’s visit to the Medical Consultant was a great success. My blood pressure is now normal, on less than half the tablets I was previously taking. His diagnosis of over-medication has obviously been correct. I postulated that it was surprising I had not realised that 2 years after retiring from a stressful job, I would be bound to be less inclined to high BP. However, I expressed the wish to be feeling fitter than I often do. After deciding between us that I am all the better for no longer falling down all over the place, he cut to the nitty gritty. There was a slight pause, whilst he weighed up the consequences of what he was about to say……..

I don’t mean to be flippant, but we have to accept some of the consequences of getting older.

Score: 2 to him and 1 to me, I think.

The Best

Misty and I have been watching Crufts for the last few days. She was disappointed that the cairn terrier did not win Best Terrier, but we both agree that the overall Best In Show – the Tibetan Terrier was very fine. We did wonder about the possibility of doing agility training, but decided that it was probably as much fun to watch. For now we will stick to her scattering toys all over the house and me clearing them up. That is more than enough agility for Dalamory.

Happy Day

O Happy day…….O Happy day……

It seems there is a recognised glitch to do with the Bookmarks Toolbar in Vista and the shakes or jiggles. The Toolbar button is now unchecked (whatever was it for anyway?) and all is peaceful and calm in the freda.org.uk homespace.

What a relief. Oh yes, and my BP was normal so my friendly practice nurse assures me. Perhaps I am in better shape than I had thought.

Glitch

This is an appeal to any computer experts out there. I have got a problem with a jiggle. Now this is not a jiggle in my person, rather it is a jiggle in my computer – on Firefox webpages to be exact. Uninstalling Mozilla’s fine browser and reinstalling makes no difference. Thus I am reduced to Internet Explorer. There are two questions: a) Is Explorer in Vista more secure than previously? and b) Can anyone suggest a remedy for Firefox? I have been a dedicated user for some years now and don’t really want to give up.

Oh and by the way, it is not the whole screen jiggling – just the webpage.

Still computer-lagged

I am still suffering from a degree of computer-fuzzing-the-head. There is only one answer. Go out into the sunshine and look at the world.

Bye for now.

Dreams

Hold fast to dreams
for if dreams die,
life is a broken-winged bird
that cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
for when dreams go,
life is a barren field
frozen with snow.

New PC

The new Evesham all-singing all-dancing computer has arrived. Fast it certainly is. Efficient its owner certainly is not. That is because of all the uploading, transferring and installing of programmes and files that is required.

But I am not complaining. After all, I can at last view Youtube clips instantaneously.

Deer patrol

Misty has a new responsibility which she has taken on a trifle unwillingly. She is only a little dog after all.  She clears the garden of roe deer.

Pity it has to happen at half-past one in the morning.
