Bog cotton

This is a reminder for me of living in the Western Isles. Our house was on the edge of the moors, which stretched down to the sea, and at this time of the year the bog cotton bloomed for weeks. The white heads bobbed and danced in the breeze and they seemed to come alive with the sunlight. OK I know it is nostalgia really. Nostalgia as opposed to memory, for in the former the negative is edited out. There were bad days too; days of horizontal rain and scudding dark clouds. The good thing in Lewis was that the weather whizzed past at a fast rate of knots and was ever-changing.
