So Gordon Brown really is our new Prime Minister. I don’t think I ever really believed it would happen. Perhaps I am now too cynical to hope that any politician can make much difference to the wrongs we live with. There is much that is good about our country, but the overwhelming sense I have is of too many layers of management in nearly every sphere.
