Dates of Easter

Or strictly speaking…… this is about dates of Easter in the west; Orthodox churches use a different system.

A bit of Google searching reveals some interesting facts about the dating of Easter:

Easter is the Sunday after the first full moon on or after 21st March, supposed to be the day of the spring equinox. This year the moon is full exactly on 21st March, and so Easter is on the following Sunday.

Apparently, the last time that Good Friday was on 21 March was in 1913, and the next time will be 2160

Thus – it is no wonder that yesterday felt odd to me. The moon was indeed full, the wind moaned and screeched, the windows shuddered and the cat-door creaked back and forth – the Chief Brigand said to Antonio, “Tell us a story” so Antonio began. “It was a wild and stormy night and the brigands sat round the camp-fire. The Chief Brigand said to Antonio, Tell us a story, so Antonio began.” “”It was a wild and stormy night and the brigands sat round the camp-fire. The chief brigand said to Antonio…….

Sorry about that – I got diverted into more memories from childhood.
