From St Anthony of Padua

Consider every day that you are for the first time – as it were – beginning: and always act with the same fervour as on the first day you began.

Point of information

Just for information – the builders have not yet started work. And the weather is beautiful.

Moving

Happy moving day to Son No 4 and entourage. Makes me remember how many times I have moved house……something like nineteen times to date. Each time there has been a sense of saying, Never again…… As to now – well, I have been learning whilst here, that all that matters is to enjoy each day and make the most of it, for it won’t come again.

Happy wherever you are!

Raining of course

The builders are due to start work on our new extension this week. (Extra shower-room and sit-ootery…..) So what is the weather doing? Lots of gushy, splooshy rain and more forecast.

Being authentic

Authentic power is the human experience without the limitations of fear, self-doubt, and self-hatred.

Gary Zukav

Fair enough, but to have power we first need food, water and health care.
And so do our sisters and brothers throughout the world.

Dreaded day

Ah well, the deed is done. Misty is booked into the vet to be speyed. (3 October.) She is having a microchip inserted at the same time (apparently it is done with a big needle.) The plan is to be able to take her abroad next year in the campervan.

I am glad a dog cannot get nerves; I have more than enough for the two of us!

Misty treats

Misty loves food……preferably human food, though she relishes her main meal of dogmeal, meat and rice. Thus, we have been successful with basic training by using puppy treats. The trouble is, the only ones I have seen are from a pet supermarket chain, and the nearest branch is over seventy miles away. A long way for a 99p packet of puppy bones. (They should really be called bonelettes, they are so small.) I want to stick with them, because a small handful is the equivalent of a couple of normal sized dog biscuits. I am thinking of her waistline you see.

Today, after checking their website, I contacted them by email asking about online shopping. Back came a reply that they were revamping the website and introducing online shopping, but that it would take about eighteen months to go live. I suspect that is more to do with warehousing, staff and packing departments. Complicated business this online world.

Still, most goods and services can be dealt with online, and living in the wilds of Dalamory, one really appreciates it.

Tinge of gold

There is a tinge of gold in the trees right now. One of my favourite woodland walks has the hint of autumn to come. Yet the weather is still warm with more than the remembrance of summer. I find the cusp of these two seasons rather hard, always wanting the summer to go on and on and on…….like those of long ago when I was a child. Instead, time seems to go faster and faster. One season melts into the next and the years go by so fast.

That is why it is so important to make the most of every day.
