OK – I give in. I am going to have a little rant about the weather. I know we are not flooded out in Dalamory. I know that we do not have hurricanes. I know that rain is good for the garden. I know that it is not particularly cold. I know that the sun is still up there beyond the clouds.
I would just like to see it for a while.
The computer now has a working firewire port thanks to a new gizmo. This necessitated taking the CPU to bits and clicking in a new board into an available slot. OK……I admit my role was to watch and do a bit of shrieking. The great thing is that the Digital Video Camera can now be uploaded directly onto my computer. Windows Vista had made direct communication via USB a no-go. So now I have no excuse. I have to learn a new programme (Adobe Premiere) and start to try and edit video clips more effectively.
I have said it before and will do again; retirement is anything but quiet.
PS Happy Birthday to Son #2
Have been having a bit of a rest from my eating plan this week. The weight loss has been very slow over the last couple of weeks: only half a pound here and there, though mainly in the right direction. My slimming club leader is threatening (she would prefer promising) to give me details of a kick-start week if things do not improve.
Help!
#3 Son has been giving me a row lately. He has only recently taken to reading my blog. (All to do with internet access being a problem) – and he says that the sons and grandchildren should be mentioned more. My biography page explains who I am and that I have four sons and seven grandchildren. And like many a parent and grandparent I am wary of going on too much about them. But also, there is the ever present problem of how much to reveal over the internet. Anyway, to make #3 feel appreciated I will take this opportunity of saying what pleasure it gives to see all the grown-up sons doing so well with their lives.
How do other bloggers cope? What do you feel about the balance between privacy and common-sense?
I am serene because I know thou lovest me.
Because thou lovest me, naught can move me from my peace.
Because thou lovest me, I am as one to whom all good has come.

More materials have been delivered for the extension. The joiner thinks it is overkill. The unfortunate bit is that two of the windows are the wrong size. The Danish firm are now committed to a rush re-order as it was their fault.
As requested……
It is a lot more progress than it looks. Plumbing pipes are hidden and the electrics are ready to be completed. But it still needs the lead roof, windows, doors and internal wall! And there is completion work to do on the existing bathroom to open up the velux rooflight. Ah well….I now know enough to accept that I would not have been very good at being a joiner/carpenter.
Creeping through the undergrowth, sitting silent under a bush, then suddenly a pounce! The pussy-cat? No, it is Misty the dog, she has been taking lessons.
