Getting ready

I have been working hard on my first OU assignment. It is ready for the final edit and to be sent off tomorrow. The modern methods of the OU are most impressive. As well as online tutorial groups, the assignments themselves are sent in to a dedicated mail slot. The only problem is that this means a fair bit of fiddling about to concentrate three documents into one, and still have it looking as a presentable piece of work.

However, the day has gone flying past and I can slob out this evening.

Makeover

Got taken out clothes shopping over the weekend. My style guru coaxed me into things which I would not normally have worn. Think it has been a success, even though I do say it myself. Anyway, it has made me more enthusiastic about clearing out old stuff and updating my wardrobe. Thanks Nina.

Next Sunday

Next Sunday is the first in Advent. That means the church countdown to Christmas has begun. Yikes, it really is time to listen to the shops and start shopping and to the post office and start writing cards and…… think about it being legitimate to burn my frankincense and myrrh oils in the oil burner……and make some mulled wine. Hmm – Perhaps it is not all so bad after all.

Birthday visit

Off to a party today. Don’t need to get all dressed up, it is a birthday party for a 2yr old. Perhaps a dry-suit and snorkel would be apt wear.

For the sake of clarity I must make it clear that I am talking about Writing. I want to put on record that I had forgotten how stressful it is to have deadlines for handing in uni assignments. Less than a week to get my first one ready for the Open University. And all of a sudden I feel very stupid.

Rite of passage

Today I am going to a funeral. It makes me think about how important such rites of passage are. And I wish every blessing on those attending this and all the other funerals in the land today.

Selective memory

If I remember correctly, rising oil and gas prices were immediately passed on to the consumer. The price of oil has dropped dramatically and we are being told that this will not filter through to domestic oil users until next summer.

There is something wrong somewhere.

Getting there

“The time will come in your life, it will most certainly come, when the voice of God will thunder at you from a cloud, ‘From this day forth thou shalt not be able to put on thine own socks.'”

John Wesley

Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as every you can.
