Call me Plebeian

Call me plebeian if you like but I have been thoroughly enjoying The Amazing Mrs Pritchard on BBC TV. An ordinary supermarket manager ends up as Prime Minister. Silly it may be, but there is a streak of realism running through it which somehow rings true. The Telegraph thinks the electorate is more savvy, I am not so sure. Many people are fed up with the wranglings of politics; and they do feel remote from the actual decisions as to priorities in government. Yes – even in Scotland, where devolution was supposed to do great things.

I’ve not seen the programme but I agree that most people are fed up with politics, party politics anyway.Devolution has been such a dissapointment the chance was there to do some real good, but leading by the example of Westminster the first thing our bunch did was vote on their own terms and conditions and pay.
I’ve listened to politicians of all parties and am amazed that not one can say two words yes and no ask an MP or MSP is it correct the sky is blue 20 minutes later you’re none the wiser..

    Absolutely, Graham.
