Today, being Monday, was my day off. It is quite hard having time off when one basically works from home. Quite apart from the telephone, there is the lure of the study and the computer and of course the wide wide world of the web. And much of that can turn into nearly-work. The best bit of the day was the surprise bird that landed in a tree near to the bird-feeders. Quite a sight to see a full-grown male pheasant balancing amidst a flock of goldfinches. They seemed unconcerned, he made rather a noise. I suspect the cat creeping below the hedge had something to do with his discomfiture.
