Peripatetic Easter

Off travelling for a few days. A most unusual occurrence for me at Easter-tide. Let’s hope there is not too much traffic – or snow for that matter.

Leaping

I heard a skylark sing
My heart lept to join her
Riding on the wind.

A digging dog

Taking a terrier – programmed to dig – onto a vast sandy beach, ( Lossiemouth, for collectors of beaches – and never mind the noise of the aircraft….) is a risky undertaking.

Misty was safely retrieved, and we are now back in the tranquility of Dalamory.

The windy north

Staying up north with fun-loving humans and animals. The ducks came on an early morning jaunt to see the campervan; the hens provided lunch (egg mayo rolls – yum yum!) the cat thankfully did not add to the banquet with the gift of a mouse (or bigger); the horses did their own thing and the dogs joined us on an expedition to New Aberlour beach…..

I like the country life.
Back soon…….

Quality of Light

Never mind the quality of the photo.
Look at the quality of the light.

Snow in the north

We are thinking of taking a trip to see Son No 2 and family way up north. It seems the roads are blocked or nearly blocked. Hmmmmm………………………. Strange year for weather this. We have daffodils, crocuses, snowdrops, pieris and heathers in bloom and the temperature is minus 5 overnight.

The flowers and birds seem to be saying spring is here and never mind the cold.

Leather legs

Yesterday’s visit from a motor-cycling friend succeeded in traumatising the puppy. She had never seen leather legs before. I have never seen her so well behaved. So now we know what to do if she gets above herself. Him Behind the Wheel has to go into the garage and don Son No 2’s leathers. Easy peasy.

Collect for Lent

Almighty and everlasting God,
you hate nothing that you have made,
and forgive the sins of all those who are penitent.
Create and make in us new and contrite hearts,
that, lamenting our sins
and acknowledging our wretchedness
we may receive from you, the God of all mercy,
perfect forgiveness and peace;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen
