Dry weather soon please.

Have you forgotten about the builders? I cannot actually forget because of the decimated garden, the main door being totally out of action, and the swimming pool in the founds. However, I am assured that nothing can be done until there are a couple of dry days.

Hope it is soon.

Another Monday

I still enjoy Monday as a day off; it is a link with my life as a minister. So now that I am retired why do I still make dental appointments for a Monday?

Winter reading

I am currently re-reading Ageing Well by George E Vaillant. It is ideal study for the start of winter. I really like this quote.

Positive ageing means to love, to work, to learn something we did not know yesterday, and to enjoy the reamining precious moments with loved ones.

The Big City

Just back from a couple of days in the big city, where I went to see the musical Cats. Oh dear, the cast were not up to it and neither was the direction. Sorry everybody, it was not a patch on the production I once saw in Hamburg. For a musical that relies a lot on the TS Eliot poems and the words as well as visual and musical input, that kind of says it all. Couldn’t hear all the words and the cats in the background stood around like stookies instead of being in character.

Mind you, if you have got tickets, do go, I suspect there were one or two understudies in the performance I saw.
