From Bill Oddie….
(In February)….the same swallows we saw swooping among the legs of cows and horses last summer, are now swooping among the legs of giraffes and elephants.

The Storm of yesterday has abated somewhat, though we still have grey skies, blustery wind and horizontal rain. Yesterday the power was off several times, culminating in an early bed before nine o’clock. (The power people were not expecting to get it restored until midnight.) Misty was confused at the torchlight, candles and long sleep. Today it is a case of hoping things stay normal and being thankful for our electricity supply.
Had to go for a scan yesterday (just routine – nothing to worry about.) I was seen on time, the nurse was the right blend of chatty and comforting and the radiologist introduced himself and shook hands before proceeding. It’s great when the NHS works. Well done Oban hospital.
Since Christmas Misty now has three coats. One for wet, one for wet and windy and one for best. All well and good. But how do I get her to understand that wearing a coat is not a fashion statement, but rather a necessity according to the weather? She has taken to the coats good style and seems to think it is her due to wear one.
Talk about dress to impress. Mind you, we have had so much wet and windy stuff that a mac has been needed for anyone venturing outside.
(And this might be the last one……)
Enjoy the moment……all about living authentically.
I have to confess that I have never watched Big Brother – nor its offshoot – Celebrity Big Brother, so I decided to tune in to Channel 4 last night to improve my education. For a start, I hardly knew who anyone was, then I found myself intimidated on behalf of those who were finding some of the arrivals a bit much to take. Smacks too much of rats in a cage in a laboratory or the Roman Games of old. But then I suppose that is the point. Perhaps I just don’t get it. I prefer to curl up with a cup of tea and a good book. Just an old-fashioned elderperson after all.
Time to get ready to join in with the rest of the western world. Sales are relegated to online…..I can’t deal with too many people and too long standing in line. So it is thoughts of holidays and dieting.
