Cruel was the rain and wind and mist in Glencoe today. Awesome in fact.
March is my Birthday Month so I am scheduling activities and things to do. Today I am struggling to find out how Facebook works and doing the necessary registration. Now I have to work out how to do photographs. Tomorrow is an outing to Glencoe. Misty is very excited.
Had an outing to the Green Welly Shop yesterday. It is one of the delights in living in this part of the country. The aim was to replace a favourite purple anorak that was ceremonially disposed of last summer. Fortunately, as a local resident I qualify for a discount, just as well as the prices have gone up considerably since the said purple friend was purchased ten years ago. Never mind, as my Granny said, “This will see me out.”
What a strange thought, but then perhaps it won’t. Perhaps I shall be around to annoy everyone into my eighties. What a prospect.
Watched two excellent programmes on the TV last night: Dancing at Lughnasa – a film; and The Downfall of Margaret – a drama documentary on the demise of Margaret Thatcher. One was fey and sad and beautiful and the other was scary. No prizes for working out which was which.
I neglected to say that reading Hornblower (CS Forester) necessitates a handy laptop to look up meanings of words and nautical terms. The books have both a rich language and a formidable display of maritime terms.
I shall get on with some housework…….tomorrow. I have permission from one of my aiders and abetters to delay. In the meantime it is back to reading Hornblower and getting up the oomph for the onset of spring. Friends are starting to “book in” for visits and it will soon be time to dust off the campervan and get rolling.
It is better than working.
Somebody asked me today what I thought of the whole Jade Goody media train. Although I have never been a fan of Jade’s and have found the whole celebrity circus surrounding her strange, I have to admit that she is showing amazing courage. I can only wish her and her family every blessing.
Two oyster-catchers and five more snowdrops. Oh yes – and no hat needed on the dog-walk. (Either for the dog or me.)
