Letting the dog out on Monday night turned into quite a comedy act. At least it would have been a) if there had been anyone around to see it (Him Behind the Wheel) is away for a few days; and b) if it had not hurt so much. The temperature was around minus five centigrade and the steps were black ice. I stepped down onto the second step whilst simultaneously lifting the other foot to give Misty a little gentle encouragement to venture forth into the frost – Bang! down I went with a clatter – landing on my arm and my derriere – fortunately the generous padding thereabouts saved me from breaking anything. And at least I now know I have good bones.
Last night, I made sure I had a walkabout phone in my pocket and I kept both feet on the ground. In addition I had liberally sprinkled the steps with salt. But guess who wanted to eat it!
I hope the derriere is not too bruised it’s been icy here as well and archie pulled on his lead last night in the park when the path was like glass I wasn’t paying attention and nearly went all my length, dogs, icy paths and rabbits don’t make a good mix
Cairn terriers are obviously prone to helping accidents happen!
