Printers and gremlins

Technology and I have never been great friends. Or rather we are friends when everything works fine. This week I have been trying to print out wedding liturgy on filefax paper. My oldest printer refused to accept the small size paper….. almost as if it was beneath it. Then it gave up altogether and took revenge by printing one word per sheet. The newer mono printer decided to churn out rubbish in sympathy.

Eventually it took Him Behind the Wheel to come to the rescue. It was done with full-size A4 paper and a guillotine.

Perhaps I should think about buying a new printer.

Ah, I too am having printer issues.

Since reinstalling windows XP and selecting the United Kingdom English for my setup, things are wonky.

My clock is in the 24 hour mode and my printer always tries to print things on A4 paper, which I can’t get here, and which is very different from the 8.5×11 inch paper I use.

It all sounds very familiar, except that my printer wants to print in letter size and I want to do A4. Also, my problems have all been made worse by having Windows Vista. I guess we just have to keep on trying.

You might have to buy another printer that’s vista compatable.my laptop is vista but it won’t link with my HP printer so if I do anything that needs printing i have to transfer the work from the laptop to the desktop via memory stick and print using my desktop ,pain in the butt.
new technology dont ya love it?

You sound to be having a lot of faff. Think I will go for the option of a new printer (when funds allow!)
